I was able to use the pad to register more than one direction at a time. When I plugged in my pad to the Wii adapter and then the Mayflash, it registered the pad arrows as buttons. I also have adapters to convert the Original XBOX port to USB - same result.Īs luck would have it, I also have a PS2->Wii Classic Controller adapter (that I used for Tatsunoko vs Capcom) and a Mayflash Classic Controller (Wireless) to USB adapter (to make my PS2 fight sticks wireless on PS3 and PC). I have a pile of PS# -> USB Adapters, and each and every one those register as a hat.

I happened to install Stepmania today and my two Gamestop multi-console (PS/GC/Original XB) pads have the same issue.
I will continue my search but can't guarantee I'll find anything. Unfortunately, for now I cannot offer a fix but hope to find one to help people like you in the future. There is no way to tell whether it is centered or both sides pressed. An axis is analog, while a HAT switch is digital. An axis has a special quirk where pushing both sides and not pushing anything input as a slightly different value which the AHK script can read and translate. It seems your pad in particular likes to input as a POV HAT switch as opposed to an Axis. I've been looking and for now I can't seem to find any way to fix it. I am on windows 8, my pad has USB and does register as a gamepad. Any progress on how fix the problem with these specific controllers? At least I can play but only without jumps, which is kinda boring. I tried motioninjoy but have to admit I dont quite understand how it works or it just doesnt.
I also bought the mayflash universal adapter but it seem to not work at all.
